The Perfect Stranger

'Time flies...'
'In a blink of an eye...'

It surprised me when I realised that today is actually the first day of my class. Whoa.. this is the 12th day of my stay in Sydney since I touched down from the *blood sucking dracula* MAS aeroplane on the 17th of July.

I know I owe most of you guys an apology. I have been completely out of reach from my friends, due to limited internet access and stuff. Well, dun blame Sydney. There are wireless access everywhere. But my mind somehow will perform the currency conversion ( $AUD to MYR) whenever i looked at the price.

And for those who are not informed bout this, i was the lucky person to be awarded the Golden Jubilee Scholarship, covering my two years tuition fee in University of New South Wales (UNSW).

So, here i am.

First of all, allow me to present you my humble room. Well, it's kind of messy and my things are piling everywhere. For those who know me, i guess being organised doesn't suit me after all. Baa.. who cares as long as i tidy my room weekly or whenever a pretty girl visits.

My computer table and study table. Since this is my first week, not much of studying for me. Anyway it's winter now, i feel like hibernating all the time.
Note: the table lamp is on 24/7 acting as my heater wahahaha!

My pile of mess. Bags, fruits (still same old apple and banana), dirty clothings, dustbin and two drawers. Trust me, you would not want to know what is in the drawer.

This is my all time favourite!
My two single bed > king size bed.
I have all the freedom to laze around, rolling all over the place.
And a perfect place to *ahem* since it can accommodate more than 1 person.

Well, i am paying $250 per week. The rent includes utility bills and meals (breakfast and dinner) from monday to friday. I have been saying this all the time, IT IS PRICEY!
Internet comes at $7.50 per week. And guess what, heater will be provided at additional cost of $10 per week. I rather wear 3 layers of clothes than paying the extra money for the god-damn-i-miss-u heater.

Next on, my uni.

I am now doing Mechatronics Engineering. It is placed under the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. I guess I had to say bye bye to the electronics stuff. I am enrolled into year 2 session 2 and expect to graduate in 3 years time ( The two and half year thingy is for the old syllabus, now we are in the new syllabus).

Some photos taken in UNSW. I apologise for the lack of photo. My camera has been with my parents until last Saturday. I will make up for it in the next post.

I like this photo, especially with the clock tower and the green lawn.

The building with the UNSW sign is the library. We are standing in the library lawn i think. I still suck at recognising places.

By the way, met me introduce to you Jonathan and Claire. Jonathan is Singaporean studying Electrical Engineering, undergrad. Single and still available. Claire is Malaysian taking up postgraduate course (Master in Telecommunication i think). Hmm, not sure available or not, forgot to ask. Please remind me next time.

And umm, that's all for my uni. The orientation week was fun, especially the part where we get free food. Got to know some friends from Penang Inti and met another two Golden Jubilee Scholars. I seem to be the worst fella having enroling problem.

Now, let us enjoy ourselves in the city.

Well, Sydney has pretty nice weather, except the fact that i do not enjoy winter at all. It is so COLD. It seldom rains here, but you better pray that it does not rain. Everytime when it rains, i have to put on my glove and hide myself in the bed. Basically, i am hibernating.

Apart from that, Sydney is a nice place to walk about. The fresh air and cold breeze is something you cannot enjoy in KL. You can walk miles here not feeling tired at all, partly due to the cool weather and of course the money factor again! So far, i have only been to Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Fish Market and Star City.

Circular Quay is where the Sydney Opera House is. I would say it is a nice plan. It has magnificent sea view and the Harbour Bridge looks fantastic.

This is the Harbour Bridge that i was mentioning. Can you see the arch of the bridge? Well, you can pay $189 to climb it, or $220 during peak season for adults. I would say it is definitely worth paying, especially you get to enjoy it with your gf during sunset/dawn/night.

No, this picture is taken in Australia. But it is nice. Again, you have to pay to enter the garden. So i end up taking photos from outside haha.

Bla Bla Bla.. Photo taken somewhere in Darling Harbour.

Say Hi to Jesus LOL. Pretty creative work huh?

This church is beautifully lit during the night. Somehow, it reminds me of the 1980s castle-like building where the king and queen stays. As for this, Jesus is the one inside. You can try moving the buddha statue in, but umm.. prepare to face the consequences haha.

And lastly you can have a look at this..

Oh yea, before i forget, my new name is Jayson. According to Jonathan, it somehows rhymes with my chinese name (家陞; 升 is the new mandarin character of 陞). Got to thanks Claire for the new name LOL.

So.. what do you think of Sydney?

Care to fly here to visit me?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Something off topic.

You probably wonder what i have been doing for the past few days..

1. Shopping (this is the first time ever i take the initiative to go shopping)
2. Cleaning (again, this is the first time i clean up my room)
3. Day dreaming (how i wish i am in malaysia)
4. Worrying to settle my meals
5. Thinking of ways to lure my housemate out of their room
6. Feeling homesick

Changes that i want to see in myself..

1. Be more sociable
2. Study hard and smart
3. Improve my communication skill
4. Treat everyone as if they are my friend =)

Well, guess i have no choice but to ensure that i fulfill my own promise. To my friends, keep in touch! I will be back in CNY lol. Send me the graduation photo, or if possible blog it here! I missed it T_T

And to my parents, I thank you whole heartly for all you have done for me. I really appreciate it and i love you.

Oh ya, not to forget my friend Kok Fye aka Kif who has been helping me all along. He is a really nice guy. Thank you. I'll promote his blog as a sign of gratitute..
